About the Institution
East Texas music lovers can take advantage of three different concerts offered by the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music within the next few days. On Tuesday, Nov. 29, in W.M. Turner Auditorium, the Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band will present ?America,? a concert of music by American composers such as Charles Ives, David Maslanka, John Philip Sousa and Joseph Wilcox Jenkins. The Stone Fort Wind Quintet, composed of SFA music faculty, will present ?Classics for Wind Quintet? on Wednesday, Nov. 30, in Cole Concert Hall. On Friday, Dec. 2, the Swingin? Axes and Swingin? Aces jazz bands will present their end-of-the-semester concert in W.M. Turner Auditorium.
