About the Institution
Penn State Brandywine, located in Media, Pennsylvania, is a teaching, learning and research institution for undergraduate education and for lifelong learning with a current enrollment of 1,700 students. The campus has been formerly known as Penn State Delaware County and Penn State Lima. The campus offers baccalaureate and associate degrees and certificate programs. As a Commonwealth Campus, it has a small, intimate setting. The campus is nestled on over 90 acres (360,000 m2) of grounds[citation needed], 30 miles (48 km) from Philadelphia and within a few hours of New York, Baltimore and Washington, DC.
With nearly 60 tiolities represented on campus, Penn State Brandywine is rich in culture and diversity[citation needed]. On a local basis, community service is a strong value on campus, with a variety of service projects taking place year-round that involve students, faculty and staff. Penn State Brandywine offers a minor in Civic and Community Engagement that is found only here and at University Park ? and percentage-wise, there are more students enrolled in this minor at Penn State Brandywin
