About the Institution
Mercy College is a four-year, private institution founded by the Sisters of Mercy as a junior college in 1950. Mercy College became a four-year college offering programs leading to the baccalaureate degree in 1961. Mercy College is Middle States accredited, an Hispanic-serving institution, and is designated as a Department of Veteran Affairs ?Yellow-Ribbon? school.
Mercy College blends keen academic minds and professional experts to ensure all teachers are current and the best in their respective fields. One hundred ninety-three full-time faculty include Fulbright Scholars, published and national best-selling authors. At Mercy College, faculty members know students. Ninety-five percent of all undergraduate classes have fewer than 30 students and 70 percent have fewer than 20 students. Class sizes are small, with an average student/faculty ratio of 17:1.
