About the Institution
Daemen was founded in 1947 as Rosary Hill College for women by the Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity, headed by Mother Magdalene Daemen. The school graduated its first male alumnus in 1968, and changed its name in 1976 to honor the foundress of the order which founded Rosary Hill College. Currently, Daemen is a non-sectarian four-year liberal arts college that also offers graduate programs in health care and education(Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Masters of Science in Nursing, Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, Masters of Science in Education/Special Education)
