About the Institution
Amman Arab University is a growing, vocation-focused university located in Amman, the capital city of Jordan. It is split into four colleges; Business, Education & Psychology, Law and IT and currently has over 1,350 undergraduate, graduate and research students. Developing on two further sites, the university intends to grow its undergraduate numbers substantially over the next few years. Founded in 1999, the university's aim is to bring a Western university model to Jordan, and offers a wide series of scholarships to ensure that it is accessible to all students of talent and ability irrespective of financial background. Forging strong international links has been a priority for the university and many scholarship and exchange programs are now in place. The university also acts as a venue for social, artistic and educational conferences, seminars and summer courses. With a rich roll call of speakers, these events have proved popular with the community outside the university as well as being a popular supplement to the students' education. With this thriving community as a background to the university's academic success, we are proud to state that the vision of the university's founders is very much alive going forward into our second decade. The founders' vision is, perhaps, best exemplified in the university's emblem which aims to express the founders' wishes to embrace both Western and Arab cultures in the character of its education and in its values and ideals.
