About the Institution
Afeka Tel Aviv Academic College of Engineering is an academic institution recognized by the National Council for Higher Education. Located in Tel Aviv, the business hub of the country, the College graduates hundreds of engineers annually into the Israeli economy. Israel's achievements in technology require it to maintain its position in the world as having the highest percentage of engineers per capita. Afeka's contribution to this desirable situation is extremely important to the future of the country. From the founding of the College at the beginning of the academic year 1996-1997 to the end of the academic year 2009-2010, 2300 students graduated from Afeka. 237 of them completed their studies "Cum Laude" and 27 additional students "Magna Cum Laude". According to surveys conducted by Afeka annually 85% of its graduates are working in the fields they studied and a number are continuing their studies for higher graduate degrees. Afeka offers a B.Sc. degree in the following fields: Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Industrial Management Engineering, and Medical Engineering. Some of the fields have almost doubled their student population since their establishment. Afeka's study programs are lead by 200 excellent lecturers who combine academic experience with practical experience in industry. The standard of academic studies demands quality and excellence while at the same time nurturing innovation and creativity. A pleasant and supportive study atmosphere accompanies the 2000 students who are currently studying at the College.
