About the Institution
LEcole Nationale dIngénieurs de Metz, is located on lîle du Saulcy, next to Plan dEau, and it is part of the Metz scenery. Founded in 1961, at the same time than her “sisters” in Tarbes, Saint-Etienne, and Brest, ENIM is the result of two joined efforts: the State’s, that is now interested in structuring and deconcentrating technical college education, and the industry’s which, in a context of strong economic expansion, fears a shortage of engineers. Since its birth, the ENIes have been recognized by their originality in their recruitment, and their contents in education, closely related to the actual job performance of an engineer. Never in its history has ENIM moved away from this rule. ENIM has constantly adapted its academic orientation to technological evolution, and today it is undertaking a renovation process that will allow it to train engineers à la carte.
