Transfer Credits

Transfer credits is a common term used in Universities and Colleges around the world. The basic idea of this is that credits, courses, classes or modules taken in an accredited tertiary institution is valid in another. That is to say that if one passed a course in "economics" to mention one example, and I decide to change Universities for a more prestigious, cheaper, a closer institution or whatever the reason could be, you should not have to take the same course again.

Different Universities in different educational systems have diverse ways to look at transfer credits but generally it works within the following parameters.

Universities and Colleges may look at the following information about a course:
  • Educational System
  • Accreditation: This may be the must important part. make sure the institution you are in is an accredited institution.
